African motifs serve as inspiration for our art.
As a family of artists, the use of African motifs has been central to our vocation and creativity.
These motifs in the form of complex symbols represent concepts and beliefs personified in human and animal forms and geometric shapes.
At a minimum, they are a profound philosophical statement on African cosmology.
The use of these motifs in our art enables us to communicate concepts, identity, religion, and histories of our societies and ourselves.
Our body of art challenges the viewer to question the belief systems and concepts that holds African societies together.
My work with motifs spans a period of over twenty years. As a master Batik Artist, Textile Designer and Painter, I have carved a niche creating Wall Hanging Batik Art to explore African cultural and belief systems.
